What Should I Expect When I Attend?

Dynamic Uplifting Music

We believe that music plays a crucial role in creating a life-changing worship experience.  Under the direction of Reuben Rubio our Worship Team works continually to improve their technical skills and they are devoted to growing spiritually on a personal level so that they are able to consistently lead others into the presence of God through worship.

In the selection and presentation of our music we strive to: Respect the Traditions of the Past; Embrace the Needs of the Present; and Prepare for the Needs of the Future.  We realize the value of the songs and styles of the past as well as understanding the importance of addressing the preferences of our present day society.  The music that you will hear ranges from hymns that have been around for centuries, to a chorus that you may have heard at Promise Keepers, to a song you heard on the radio in the past week, to original compositions by members of our Worship Team.  We are much more concerned with using music that enhances a personal connection with God in worship and in relationship, then we are when a particular song was written, or it’s tempo, or volume.  In response to our desire to make worship a multi-sensory experience we regularly seek to upgrade our audio and video equipment.  We understand the necessity of incorporating the technology that permeates our daily lives into our worship experiences.

Relevant Teaching

Pastor Shafe has been the lead teacher in the Morning Worship Service at Caring Community for over 22 years, yet he continues to present the Word of God with freshness, creativity, and vitality. While his appearance and style have certainly changed with time, his emphasis upon relevance and application have remained constant.  His relaxed, conversational style is one that many people find appealing.  People say that they find his sense of humor engaging, while his ability to apply the truths of the Bible to their personal lives often leaves them feeling as if the message may have been written specifically for them.  He is confident in his role yet willing to be transparent about his struggles to be the husband, father, friend, pastor, and man that God is calling him to become.  This vulnerability makes it easier for others to come to terms with their needs and to commit to the process of becoming Christ followers on a daily basis.

An Inviting Atmosphere

From the landscaping, to the design of the building, to the decorations inside the building, to the comfortable attire of the people, we strive to create an atmosphere that is warm, comfortable and inviting.  While we want to be friendly in our greeting, we try not to isolate or intimidate our guests in any way.  Our goal is to have you be comfortable and relaxed because we feel that will increase the likelihood that you will be able to personally connect with God as you share in our worship experience.

Great Children’s Programming

Over the years Caring Community has developed a reputation for the quality and depth of our children’s programming.  We are particularly well-known for our outstanding children’s musical productions as well as our annual Vacation Bible School.  From the Nursery on up, our Children’s Ministry is staffed by trained and dedicated volunteers who don’t just teach about what it means to follow Christ, they provide living examples for the children to follow.  Our children’s programming is activity oriented and experience based.  Even at the younger ages we want them to see how the teachings of the Bible apply to their daily lives and our teachers are trained to do this in ways that take advantage of the natural curiosity and activity of children.  We work diligently to create a learning environment that is physically, spiritually, and emotionally safe and secure.  Parents are regularly encouraged to be involved as helpers in the various classrooms.  While we have always placed a high value on creating age appropriate learning experiences for our children, we are also increasingly seeking to provide “family friendly” opportunities for all ages and generations to learn and worship together.
